Joanna Dole has been painting and designing for most of her life. She received a Bachelor of Science in Art Education at Emmanuel College. While teaching Art in the City of Boston High Schools, she completed her Master’s Degree in Art at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, earning Honors in her studio courses. She also spent six months studying Art in Rome, Italy.

Joanna continued doing design and layout for private clientele, businesses  during her teaching years. She began working for decorators, doing showhouses, and designing for businesses and private clients. She has advised and consulted in home decor along with conceiving and executing her own designs and color interpretations. She excels at trompe l’oeil, faux finishes, and decorative furniture that she designs and has constructed by an expert cabinetmaker.

Joanna’s credits include multiple publications, including a cover in 1986, in House Beautiful Magazine, Home Magazine, The Boston Globe and Boston Phoenix. Her work is seen in many fine homes and businesses around the Boston Massachusetts area. She lives between Boston and the Florida Keys, where she is painting in watercolor and oils and is on the board of the Florida Keys Watercolor Society and is a member of Keys Arts.
